IDK if I believe this. Thoguh, I don't really want to either, it makes it seem likes things are going to be more difficult. Also, I never realized pokemon regions were based off of regions in japan before.

The information leak from this month's CoroCoro has begun. We start with the names of the starters of Pokemon Black and White:
*The grass starter is named Kaedenta
*The fire starter is named Kooen
*The water starter is named Rakoru

The region that Black and White take place in will be a new part of Japan, this time in the Japanese regions of Shikoku and Chogoku, in the map off to the side we see Hoenn is right next to the new regian, making it possible that there'll be a remake with these new RPGs.

As we saw in the screenshot, battles - at least visually - are totally redesigned. It seems that battles will be more real-time, and will have to use attacks in the opportune moment. This mode of battle will be modified by Zorua's special ability.

In HeartGold/SoulSilver there exists progammed parts and objects without a use that were originally thought to relate to Pokemon Ranger 3, but according to this new info Zorua will have something to do with the remakes of Gold and Silver. The bad news is we don't know more.

Like when we wanted to move our old Pokemon from third gen to fourth, the Pokemon of Sinnoh will have a series of parameters that we can't pass 100% to Black and White, but we don't know more.

This isn't confirmed by an official source, so we have to take it with a grain of salt, but it was translated by our friends at Zona Safari and ゲーム情報収集部屋 and it seems real enough to me to publish here as well.

What. The speed stat might actually matter now? Status bars like in other rpgs? Some moves cost more time to cast/do than others? Enough rpgs have done this, while still keeping things turn based that I don't have a problem with it.

Real time battle (or semi real time) would shake up, oh, everything. That would destroy and remake move sets to the same sort of degree the physical/special split did. Useful critters would becomes useless, and some useless things would become useful.

And thats okay. We've gotten games 3 and 4 with that standard, and the remakes of part 1 and 2. We've had the one system for a while, a shake up is due.

Oh, I see. Thank you for the info, I never thought of Breloom as a kangaroo pokemon. And I already had in mind Kangaskhan, but didn't really think of it as a kangaroo type.

Battle system changed it says something about timing!

Looks like Zoroa has a event in HG/SS! and maybe it has to do with the "mystery" Lock capsule http://zonasafari.net/noticias/data/...ule_Sprite.png more info in the July vol.

That's interesting about the names of the starters, I hope there be some pictures coming out soon, so we know how they look like. And that's cool about the battle system being about timing. Anyways, can't wait for more info.

Really? I'd pretty horrified if those were the actual starters. The ones on the top and the right don't even look like anything.

I agree that these three look more real than anything else that's been thrown out there, especially with Robby's point on the atrocity of that... thing on the right. Still, in the spirit of useless bitching, let's review.

Gen 1- An adorable turtle like creature that can withdraw into its hardened shell and spin at something like 15k rpm.

Gen2- A minutely sized blue crocodile that could probably bite your fucking face off.

Gen3- Fuck yeah, Axolotls.

Gen4- A visibly useless small bird. Starting to get worse, but it does evolve into a penguin made of goddamn knives, so there's that.

Possible Gen5- What the hell? I don't even know what to compare this to, or how the fuck it could evolve into anything vaguely threatening.

I don't even want to start thinking about the possible Water starter, Rakkoru's (sea otter pokemon?) evolutions would look like, though it would be epic than Blastoise, Feraligatr, Marshtomp and Empoleon. :)

According to serebii the protagonists are older this time, they look like teenagers to me instead of 10 year old kids, nice maybe it has some repercussion in the anime and Satoshi actually ages.

Seems like the battles will have real time now or something like that, anyway the battle system is changing.

The water one is really strange but i liked them all pretty original.

Well I don't know which one I should pick ... though I almost always pick the fire starter this time it depends on what the evolutions look like I guess ... but the fire starter could evolve into some awesome wildboar ... don't know ^^
