    Clash, Argonauts and the three Sinbad films are amazing. I've watched the hell out of those five over the years, and Harryhausen's amazing stop motion work are 99% of the reason why.

    Ideally, he'd have had the rings and been chinese. Rings are science based anyway, you can skip anyone thinking they're magical if need be. Short flashback to Mandarin finding them in a spaceship....

    It's because it totally changes the expectations and tone of the film. The actual bad guy is also nowhere near as compelling as Kingsley was as the pseudo-mandarin, and if you go into the cinema...
