Oh wow thanks! Sorry for the late response! My friend was also telling me how awesome the 5th ending was of ever17. I'll check it out after I play those beginner ones you recommended me. My friend's a huge vn fan so he'll probably let me borrow some of his games that he has. You mention quite a few that he has already.

My most favorites are bolded: harems,comedies,slice of life,shonen,mysteries,supernatural,Romance,Drama and science fiction. Those are the ones that stand out.

I like Shonen genres. I like light fantasy, dark fantasy, mythological fantasy, slice-of-life, martial arts, sports, mysteries, suspense, romantic comedies, gag comedies, um, maybe others that I didn't list.

Hey, I wanted to know what Muv-luv was and the whole "anime and manga obsolete" meant :S

I'm a fan of VN's in general and always happy to get a reccomendation.
I never heard of the series before tbh.
I think the questions were basically which game in the series would you reccomend to start with? Are the stories all linked in a way? Would it be worth playing the earlier games beforehand etc.?
